Places To Visit In Hollywood
Well i’ve lived here in Hollywood all my life, and I’ve had the most wonderful time ever!
I have had tourists on the street approach me asking me what the best spots to visit where… so that got me thinking!
I have lived here my whole life, and have visited almost every single place in Hollywood/West Hollywood/Beverly Hills/Westwood.
So I will be listing the best places to visit when your in and around the area…..ready? lets get started!
1. Hollywood Boulevard… The classic tourist location. It wouldn’t be a vacation without visiting the world re-known Hollywood Blvd! its full of tourist-y things like street performers, delicious food, the new Madame Toussauds and the world famous Kodak theatre along with the majestic Chinese Theatre.
2. The Sunset Strip: well what can I say…. is there anything i don’t like about the Sunset Strip? the answer is…… nope! i absolutely adore the sunset strip! The history, the clubs, the celebrities….. everything is wonderful there! There is the Whisky-a-go-go, a place where numerous amazing bands have performed (The Rolling Stones, The doors, and also, the place where the most notorious metal band in history, Motley Crue, got their start…how cool!) its also a good hang out place when you’re with your buddies just enjoying a good cold beer. Next is The Roxy, a very popular concert venue, which is right by the Whisky! There’s the very popular House Of Blues which has a fantastic and delicious restaurant on the second floor. There is the famous hotel Chateau Marmont (a classic hangout for celebrities like Lindsay Lohan… also the place that has served her too many drinks on numerous occasions which led to her crashing into a tree…i believe that tree still has tire marks on it….smart!) The Chateau Marmont is also where famous comedian John Belushi died of a heroin overdose in one of the garden bungalows. The Trocadero is also famous because Marylin Monroe used to go have margaritas after award shows there! Also, on the strip is the infamous Viper Room where the actor River Pheonix (Joaquin Pheonix’s brother) died of a cocaine and heroin overdose right on the front door of the Viper Room by the sidewalk. The Laugh factory as well as many comedy comedy joints are on sunset boulevard. The Sunset Strip is approximately two miles that start on Crescent Heights Boulevard and ends on Doheny Drive.
3. Melrose Boulevard: its full of trendy shops. Kitson is located there too, a popular place where Paris Hilton likes to spend her millions at….must be nice! It has good places to eat such as Taste… a very delicious restaurant…. Rhianna goes there every once in a while… hey, who knows? you might even spot her there!
4. High Voltage Tattoo: a.k.a. the place where Kat Von D tattoo’s, the place where L.A. ink is filmed….. if you like tattoos, go there! you definitely wont be disappointed, the people that work there are true artists. also, if you’re a tattoo/piercing fanatic, go to Velvet Grip! they are amazing as well! High Voltage Tattoo is located at 1259 N La Brea Ave, West Hollywood and Velvet Grip is located at 7213 1/2 Santa Monica Blvd, West Hollywood.
5. Beverly Hills: home of the rich and famous! its full of beautiful houses… its definitely a must go!
6. The Manson Family Murder House: the place where the horrific Murders occurred. Its a tourist attraction. But beware, its a area of private residences.. dont try to trespass to any private properties. The original address was 10050 Cielo Drive, but has now been changed to 10066 Cielo Drive, in Beverly Hills. its right off Benedict Canyon.
7. The Beckham Residence: yep, its the place where David and Victoria Beckham live. Its a fun place to drive by if you’re into celebrities or the gorgeousness that is David Becks. The address is 1105 San Ysidro Drive. its right off Benedict Canyon as well.
8. Hyde Lounge: The “hotspot” for celebrities in hollywood.. its a great club to go to.. but make sure to make reservations, this place gets packed!
9. The Grove: This place is great! Its full of trendy stores and good food. You can spot at least one celebrity every time you go! plus, this place is right next to the Farmers Market. I saw Gwen Stefani shopping there once.
10. Greystone Park Mansion: this place makes you feel right at home…. right at home at a million dollar estate that is. It has beautiful scenery and you can mingle with the rich and maybe the famous.
well i think that sums up my top ten spots to visit in Hollywood and the surrounding areas!
have fun on your visit to Hollywood!
